
王歌群,BV伟德官方网站经理、声乐系教授,山东省政协委员,民盟山东省委委员,山东省文联主席团委员、山东省音乐家协会主席,山东省欧美同学会文化艺术委员会主任。
1990年考入伟德体育官网音乐系演唱专业,师从张庆朗教授,后考入上海BV伟德官方网站周小燕歌剧中心,师从著名歌唱家周小燕先生。以全额奖学金应邀进入美国柯蒂斯BV伟德官方网站攻读并获得歌剧表演专业硕士研究生学位,1995、1996年两次考入美国旧金山歌剧院歌剧中心艺术家培训计划,两次荣获美国旧金山歌剧院职业奖金、美国李氏基金会奖金。2025年获中国民主同盟中央委员会颁发的“民盟思想政治建设和宣传工作先进个人”称号。
与中、美、意多城市歌剧院及交响乐团合作演出,被国内外多家媒体报道并给予极高评价。1995年在庆祝联合国成立50周年的庆典音乐会中担任贝多芬《第九交响乐》男高音;2019年在庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年庆祝俄中建交70周年音乐会上与俄罗斯国家交响乐团、合唱团合作清唱剧《补天》,担任男高音领唱;与Sasha Cooke等四位格莱美奖获得者及中央歌剧院合作演出格莱美最佳歌剧奖获奖作品《乔布斯》;2022年9月应邀出演上海BV伟德官方网站献礼党的二十大重大创作项目--交响合唱组曲《龙华魂》;在第十七届联合国教科文组织孔子教育奖颁奖典礼中独唱《幽兰操》。为北京大学歌剧研究院翻译音乐家巴伦博依姆的著作《音乐让时间苏醒》,并在北京大学做主旨发言,该书于2022年3月由中国出版集团中译出版社出版发行。2024年获山东省第七届老员工艺术展演指导教师奖。
2015年应伟德体育官网邀请回母校执教,2022年迄今担任BV伟德官方网站经理,重视文化“两创”、艺术实践、新文科建设,并大力加强与国内外高水平院校和演出机构的交流合作。2023年开始打造“高校服务于社区”的公益音乐项目“爱心音乐厅”“音乐筑梦”,开展十余场公益音乐活动,提高师生社会服务意识,丰富市民文化生活。与山东文艺广播联合推出的“高雅音乐工程”项目,已播出近40期,致力于普及高雅音乐,传播中华优秀文化,该节目获山东省2024年度优秀广播文艺作品一等奖。2024年为响应教育部新文科建设的号召,在山艺BV伟德官方网站创建“音乐与科学联合实验室”,获批“济南市第二批市校融合发展战略工程项目”,开展音乐与科学交叉学科研究与实践。“人工智能赋能音乐表演教学改革”项目获批“2024年山东省人工智能赋能重点领域教学改革项目”(简称“111计划”),作为项目负责人将联合山东多所院校构建人工智能赋能音乐教育的发展共同体。2025年作为项目负责人与山东歌舞剧院成功申报并建立产教融合研究生联合培养基地。
Currently serving as Chair of the School of Music at Shandong University of Arts and Chair of the Shandong Musicians Association, Gequn Wang is an acclaimed tenor and voice professor who has taught at universities and summer festivals worldwide. His extensive performance career spans prestigious opera houses, symphonic concerts, and recitals, earning critical acclaim for his vocal artistry and stage presence.
In 1995, he participated in the United Nations’ 50th anniversary concert, performing the tenor solo in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the San Francisco Opera. In 2000, at the invitation of Maestro Plácido Domingo, Gequn performed the leading role in On Gold Mountain with the Los Angeles Opera. Invited by the renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang, he made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2009 in a joint concert. In 2017, he made his debut at the Kennedy Center, performing selections from Verdi’s La Traviata. In 2018, he debuted with the Shanghai Philharmonic as the leading tenor soloist in a symphonic concert, alongside numerous television appearances across China.
Gequn’s accolades include performing the tenor solo in Anlun Huang’s symphonic poem Creation in 2019, commemorating the 70th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic relations, with the Russian National Symphony Orchestra and Choir. In 2021, he recorded the theme song for the film Shaolin at the invitation of Hollywood composer Nathan Wang. He has also collaborated with four Grammy Award winners including Sasha Cooke, and the China National Opera House, performing the Grammy-winning opera The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. In September 2022, Gequn was invited to perform in the symphonic choral suite The Soul of Longhua, a major national music project of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. His performances have garnered rave reviews in major publications such as the LA Times, and he has appeared in interviews and documentaries on television programs like Fox News and Shandong TV.
Gequn has performed a diverse range of operatic roles, including Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Idomeneo (Idomeneo), Vaudemont (Iolanta), Nemorino (L’elisir d’Amore), Hoffmann (Tales of Hoffmann), and Don Carlo (Don Carlo), and has covered the role of Rodolfo (La Bohème) in the Philadelphia Opera’s production. In addition to opera, he has performed numerous tenor solos in Oratorio concerts, including Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Verdi’s Requiem in Rome, conducted by Maestro Carlo Paleschi and Antonio Pateneschi, to celebrate Verdi’s 200th birthday.
In 2015, Gequn returned to his alma mater, Shandong University of Arts, to teach, and since 2022, he has served as the Chair of the School of Music. His leadership focuses on providing students and faculty with real-stage experiences, inviting distinguished musicians and scholars to nurture young talent, developing community outreach programs, fostering international collaborations, and building interdisciplinary curricula. In 2023, he launched a public welfare music project that has organized dozens of music events to enrich the cultural life of local residents. He also leads the Classical Music Project, a radio show in collaboration with Shandong Radio and Television Broadcasting, aimed at popularizing classical music and increasing the region’s cultural influence. In 2024, he established the Music and Science Lab at Shandong University of Arts, focusing on research and practice at the intersection of music and computer science. The lab’s project was approved as part of Jinan City’s City-University Integration Initiatives and received a grant of over $100,000 USD.
Gequn is also deeply committed to writing and charity work. He has published several articles on vocal performance and translated Daniel Barenboim’s Music Quickens Time, which was published in 2022 in China. He actively collaborates with organizations such as Madame Zhou’s Arts Foundation and the Lang Lang Foundation to improve music education for underprivileged children.
Gequn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Shandong University of Arts. He subsequently received advanced training at Madame Zhou’s Opera Center at the Shanghai Conservatory. He earned his Master’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music and a post-graduate degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He was also a visiting scholar at the Perugia Conservatory of Music in Perugia, Italy.
Gequn was a Merola Fellow with the San Francisco Opera Center in 1995 and 1996 and was the recipient of the Merola Career Grant and the Li Foundation Grant in 2000 and 2001.
